Download and run each package and it will automatically find and copy the DLC files to the right place. Once you complete your registration and "purchase" of this DLC you will be taken to a page on the social.bioware site with links to download installers for each DLC item. If the above links don't work or you never received a code for this then just go to the link below after you register and just buy the "Cerberus Network" DLC which you will find here at the very reasonable price of free: Go to to create an account (I think EA accounts created elsewhere will work well here), then go to to redeem your Cerberus network code and finally to download and install your DLC. Without giving too much away some of these DLC missions will be especially memorable to returning players, and the rest of the content also happens to be quite good so I don't recommend you wait or risk forgetting to install it. While it is technically possible to play the game without any of this content since it is now offered at no cost to all players and all it takes is a bit of inconvenience it's better to install it now before you begin the game. This includes a new character, a few missions, and gear among other goodies. Unlike the previous game where you could just load the game and play right away in Mass Effect 2 a sizable chunk of the initial game content is locked behind an online network that's not included with the installed files.

Please offer your constructive feedback in the comments below and enjoy.Īs a proud new owner of Mass Effect 2 you should have in your possession a code for what's called the "Cerberus Network".

If for some reason (ie going from Console to PC) you are playing Mass Effect 2 as a new character but are familiar with the first game I would recommend also reading my guide for new Mass Effect 2 players as there are a few tips that will be handy to know before you play. Keep reading for what to look out for on your first playthrough of Mass Effect 2.įinally this guide assumes that you have completed Mass Effect 1 with at least one character and that you will be transferring at least one Mass Effect 1 character save over to ME2. I'm very happy to say as my first tip is that unlike Mass Effect 1 there are far fewer pitfalls in this game so your chances of making it through with an unbalanced character build are much lower this time although a few do persist. While some of the advice from my ME1 beginner's guide will help you here Mass Effect 2 represents a major departure from the last game in many aspects and these tips will build on what you already know to ensure you have a great first experience with this game. Thanks to the feedback on my ME1 guide I was encouraged to continue with a guide for Mass Effect 2 to help you on your journey in the next chapter of the trilogy. Welcome back fellow Spectres to my next Steam guide for continuing players.
